\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\nI am the most certified flooring inspector in the Carolinas and Virginia and most highly retained expert witness by attorneys in areas we service. There are a number of training schools out there certifying flooring inspectors. I am retained by attorneys, insurance companies, architects, designers, large commercial and residential builders, installers, distributors, and homeowners for a reason. I will write a factual report with pictures, data, testing and industry citations that will withstand court requirements and even opposing legal counsel will find difficult to challenge. Sadly, many of the newer inspectors being trained by some of these schools under new ownership or newer schools which were not even around a decade ago are training inspectors to look for anything, even if unrelated to the concerns being inspected, to get a manufacturer or other involved party out of a viable warranty claim. More than 50% of my work is going behind those kinds of flooring inspectors and almost always getting a claim overturned or reopened because we find, AND PROVE, the other inspectors used incorrect, irrelevant, or mythical data to get a claim denied.<\/span>\n

I have been certified by most of these since I started inspecting floors 25 years ago. I have let some of those certifications lapse due to the increasing number of flooring inspectors trained, but the knowledge and integrity level of inspectors in the past decade has declined. I get work many of these inspectors will never get because of certifications most of them have not earned. I carry IICRC Water Damage Certifications as well as my flooring inspector certifications which makes it ideal to go behind the mitigation contractors to ensure if the work was done properly or not. Several mitigation companies retain my services just to determine if their flooring subcontractors did the work properly or not.<\/p>\n

If you want someone who will break ethics rules or outright lie for the party who pays them, hire a politician, or in this case, one of these other inspectors. You may find some of the newer inspectors worked for manufacturers for years or retired and still have ties to them via pensions or other benefits. Do you think they are going to be unbiased, impartial, or ethical? They definitely may work cheaper than a highly certified or seasoned flooring inspector, but most can’t write an inspection report that will withstand challenge in a court room so they are beholden to manufacturers where they almost never have to see the inside of a court room to prove their findings. In the old west, they were called “hired guns” and some of the training schools allow the same influence from manufacturers in order to get their certifications recognized or accepted.<\/p>\n

Barney Fife only had one bullet in his gun. If he misfired, unless Andy gave him another, he was out of luck. For highly qualified, highly certified, highly recognized truly independent, impartial, and unbiased flooring inspectors, you have very few choices and my entire business reputation has been built on and recognized for those reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Once we are hired to represent a party, we can not represent another party in an inspection or discuss things with them. This would include testifying in court due to conflict of interest. Since manufacturer\u2019s claims rarely end in court for resolution, this is rarely an issue, but could be.<\/p>\n

For consumers, dealers, attorneys, or other parties, if asked to perform depositions, expert witness services, our employment agreement must be signed & retainer paid in advance.\u00a0 Failure to do this will result in no discussion of things until such time the agreement is signed & retainer is received.<\/p>\n

Areas of Coverage<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We cover areas such as Southern West Virginia, Eastern Tennessee & will travel anywhere in the lower 48 states, Alaska,\u00a0 Hawaii, or most\u00a0 places requested for the cost of inspection including travel fees & expenses.\u00a0 We\u2019ll try to give a 1 hour time frame for an inspection, but we can not control\u00a0 traffic conditions, weather, or construction.<\/p>\n

Inspections will not be scheduled until a faxed or written request with requested information is made via e mail. This ensures a claim is commissioned & payment will be due on site by cash, money order, or check or the report will be sent C.O.D.; we do not take any credit card payments at this time.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
